Goals and outcomes
There are many resources out there about creating AR applications, the most popular of which is probably ARToolKit, which together with Unity and Android Studio or XCode help create interesting and innovative AR applications with minimal hassle.
Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants
Technologies are becoming increasingly ubiquitous in the classroom. Using them in a smart, engaging way will help students better engage with their learning and discover the world around them in ways that have previously not been possible due to constraints of space and time.
What is the possible impact of a good solution?
Finding a good solution with this challenge will help push the barriers of what is possible to do within a classroom, by augmenting the reality of class work and adding a layer of virtual reality that helps students explore the world around them in a richer, more creative way that is not constrained by the barriers of the physical world.
Available support
We expect our solutions for this challenge to come in two forms:
- A prototype of an app that will introduce AR to the classroom in an innovative way
- A plan for implementing AR in a way that enriches the classroom experience
