Not only do learners expect to be serviced based on all available context, a lot of that context is also interesting for the institution to improve their setup (e.g. usage of specific learning spaces). We invite you to come up with ways to use location data to improve the experience for end users .

Help us tackle the challenges higher education is currently facing in the field of enriching learning spaces, the co-creation of educational resources and the open recognition of skills and competences. Experts and mentors will coach and support your team during 24 hours in finding the best solutions to the challenge you want to tackle. The best teams can win €5000 in a global award contest.

Goals and outcomes

We will provide several data sets, in collaboration with Cisco, and/or services providing the location of several devices in a building. A demo setup of Meraki applicances will provide location data of all devices within (part of, for the demo) the building (based upon Wifi). It will be a great opportunity to play around with this kind of data!

Expectations and requirements for the solutions and participants

The prototypes, insights or solutions that are the result of this event will be used in the further ICT and infrastructural technical planning with regards to the construction of a new campus building.

What is the possible impact of a good solution?

Enabling policy makers and offices for ICT and infrastructure to tailor the learning spaces towards the needs of the learners and lecturers and gaining a more in-depth understanding about how learning spaces are being used.

Available support

We invite you to come up with ways to use this data to improve the experience for end users or institutions, to invent new ways of monitoring location or even to elaborate on the privacy sensitive side of this matter. These insights will enable us to change and improve the way learning spaces are currently being used.
